Cosmic Ice Laboratory
Vinyl alcohol, shown above, is unstable at room temperature and ordinary pressures. Our experiments predicted the existence of this molecule in interstellar space, and showed that it is easily made by either irradiation or photolysis of known interstellar molecules.
